Rob Interview with Publinews (Guatemala) (Scans + Translation)

image host image host

Translation

Edward Cullen, the enigmatic and central figure of The Twilight Saga, was the role that launched Robert Pattinson to success. Something that according to him, doesn’t quite fits into his personality.

Publinews talked to him about critics and future projects.

“I have a weird mental disorder: I only listen the negative part. It doesn’t matter if a lot of people say really good things, I always see it negative.”

Maybe I feel I don’t deserve it yet, that’s why I really want to feel in my head that I do something worthwhile, and fight for a long period of time.

In any case, Pattinson feels uncomfortable with The Twilight Saga’s fame, although it’s a motivation for his career. “This year I’ve sign to a lot of things. I was obsessed in working with people that are qualified as dangerous; I thought it would be thrilling.”

“I think that anyone who has some vision, could try to make really subversive things. I think it will be really interesting to develop these kind of projects within the mainstream, movies that convert the audience in participants and not just consumers.”

Tara Swennen Talks About Kristen's Style

Tara Swennen has been Kristen Stewart's stylist since the actress appeared on the Into the Wild red carpet wearing Chanel in 2007. Since then, we've seen Stewart in everything from studded minis and many T-shirt-and-jean combos to the more recent floor-length gowns and sheer jumpsuits. Quite the evolution. For the Twilight finale, Swennen — who also styles Julie Bowen and Connie Britton — chose particularly dramatic looks, aiming to put Stewart in outfits that would reflect this "end of an era" for tween fans, starting with a butt-baring, nude Zuhair Murad number. "It took a lot of balls for her to wear that dress, so I'm super-proud of her," Swennen said of the controversial pick. Read ahead for the stylist's thoughts on red-carpet sneakers, Ghesquière's departure from Balenciaga, and where she thinks Stewart's style will evolve from here.

How did you choose the looks for these recent Twilight red carpets?
It all stemmed from the fact that this was the end of a big chapter in her life. Twilight is coming to a close, so we wanted to do stronger looks. Just recently, she’s embraced doing the long-gown thing, so it was definitely an opportunity for me to stick as many as I could on her. We just wanted to make a grand escape, I guess, rather than a grand entrance. And through the years, she’s come into her own, and so now she’s letting me play a little bit more. I’m going from a glam moment to an androgynous moment from one carpet to the next; we like making sure that we push boundaries on every carpet.

Right, legs seem to be her thing, and now she’s wearing these long dresses. Why the change?
I think it’s just time. She’s become a woman since I’ve known her. She’s a tomboy at heart (both of us are), but she understands that fashion is an arena, that she can be a chameleon and not dress the way she does every single day. She’ll always change into her Converse by halfway through a carpet, which is to be expected at this point, but she puts on the heels for me for the photos, God bless her. At the end of the day, I want my clients to be comfortable because I think it shows. She needs to put on her sneakers and that’s alright with me.

New Rob Interview with FilmInk (Australia) (Scan + Transcript)

Transcript

Robert Pattinson looks like he doesn't know whether to laugh or cry when FilmInk asks whether he'll miss playing ageless vampire, Edward Culle, the role that has both defined his career and prompted the loss of any semblance of a private life that he may have once had. "I don't know," the actor says, scratching his famously shaggy hair. "It's going to be weird that I'm not doing it again. I still haven't absorbed the fact that I'm not doing it anymore."

Weird or relieved, FilmInk asks, prompting the actor to wriggle nervously in his seat. "Umm, the last one was really hard, and kind of... long," he laughs. "You're doing the two-and-a-half hours of make-ip everyday, and when you do it for eight months in a row, you're just like, 'Never! I'm never doing this again!'"

Bill Condon mentions Kristen on an interview with Movieline

You filmed Parts 1 and 2 simultaneously, sometimes having Kristen Stewart play weak, dying Bella in the same afternoon as strong vampire Bella.
Condon: I really do think that Kristen Stewart is amazing, but I feel like in terms of this series she doesn’t get credit for how much she accomplishes. I think if someone were to sit and watch these two movies that we made together at the same time and realize that Kristen shot that all together, it’s just another level of her gift. She was stepping out of her comfort zone, because there was so much Kristen in teenage Bella — and now this was someone who she was just creating. I think Kristen, who’s tough on herself, was able to step out of all that stuff and just really own everything.

Tara Swennan, Kristen's Stylist, Talks About Her Most Iconic Looks and Fashion Evolution

As we’ve watched Kristen Stewart grace countless red carpets at “Twilight” press tours over the last four years, one thing is for sure: Her sense of style has evolved tremendously. With last week’s release of “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” the final film in the staggeringly successful franchise, we thought it was only appropriate to seek out Tara Swennen, the stylist behind K-Stew’s headline-making looks, and hear a bit about why she made the sartorial choices she did for the actress, and how Stewart’s style has graduated from hoodies and Converse to head-turning couture.

StyleCaster News: Stewart has had some pretty major red carpet moments. What are her biggest standout looks so far, in your opinion?

Tara Swennen: The nude Zuhair Murad at last week’s premiere of “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” the white bra and black Balenciaga pants at the “On the Road” premiere, the black fully beaded Roberto Cavalli dress at the London premiere of “Breaking Dawn Part 1,” the pleated gray Balenciaga skirt and top with mesh panels that she wore in Spain in 2009, and the Proenza Schouler look for the “New Moon” photo call in the UK in 2009, which was a printed multicolored sweater and zebra print skirt.

How has her style evolved since you’ve been working together, and what have you incorporated into her wardrobe to show her growth?

The truth is, both Kristen and I are T-shirt and jeans kind of girls that love to play dress up! Through the years, Kristen has embraced fashion and with each new year comes a newfound courage to try bolder and more cutting-edge pieces.

Obviously, an awards show or premiere dress is incredibly important. What do you look for when picking something out?

I always believe that one’s look is an extension of one’s personality, so for each client it’s about expressing who they are while making them look their absolute best.

New Rob and Kristen Interviews with CNN Mexico from BD2 LA Press Junket

JA: If you could change roles with the “twihards” what team would you choose: Edward, Bella or Jacob?
K: Probably with Bella. I’m a little biased, so I don’t know if I hadn't had this experience……But now that I’ve walked in her shoes…I’d probably go with Bella.

JA: What’s the scene out of the entire saga that you will never forget?
K: There are a couple that I will never forget shooting: The wedding scene, The scene at the end of “twilight” at the prom, the first kiss in “twilight”, we reshoot that, it was such a big deal”

JA: For you or the people around? The twihards?
K: They didn’t really exist yet in our world, they were fans of the book at the point. So it was definitely us. Catherine the director, me and Rob, the producers, at the beginning it just didn’t come out right. Probably those are the ones that come to mind, all the big moments, the big scenes we were waiting to do.

JA: Do you have a favorite app? Is it true that you live glued to your phone?
K: I don’t think so, I don’t really have any apps on my phone actually, like none whatsoever.

JA: How did you feel when you finish with the last scene, and was it the last scene in the movie the last one to shoot?
K: The first time we “wrapped” the movie, it was the wedding. We had to come back and do additional footage. The first time we wrapped I didn’t believe it, I was almost like we knew that we needed to do more. It didn’t feel like I needed to say goodbye to anyone, it was more like as a group, we were saying goodbye to the experience. Usually you want to live longer in that world but even though we were sad and it was definitely surreal, nobody was like “oh God, I wish we had a little more time”. We’ve been doing this for 5 years, at this point we should congratulate each other and say “We did it”.

New Kristen Interview with Vogue India

Through four books and five movies, a new cult was born -- Twihards they called themselves. Twilight fans watched their heroine Bella transform from a socially awkward teenager in love into a jaw-droppingly beautiful vampire mother, a transformation somewhat mirrored in real life where the teenage child star Kristen Stewart grew up into a bankable Hollwood star.

"I'm kinda tripping out [professionally], because I've always been in a position where I love films, and they don't have money, and I'm attached to them forever. I don't get to realize some of the parts that I would love to play. But now I can get projects off the ground; I can get them made," Stewart says.

Now on the promotions trail for the last movie in the Twilight series – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 – does she feel like there should have been more to the story?

On the contrary, "I’m so happy that the story is told," says Stewart. "We had five years. The fact that this thing is out and it’s not weighing on us anymore, I’m super excited about that. I don’t want it to sound like I’m excited to be done with the experience. It’s a feeling, and I will definitely miss that, but I feel like it’s not going anywhere. It is strange. But, things shouldn’t stay stagnant. You’ve got to move on.”

You rarely see Kristen Stewart walk the red carpet in anything but smoky eyes. "She doesn't like lipstick," her makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey, told Allure. "She hates the maintenance, and every time I try a loud color on her lips, she nicely asks if I can wipe it off."

Mackenzie Foy Talks About Rob and Kristen

Foy, 12, agrees "it's a little weird" how much she looks like her on-screen parents Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. "Kristen's eyes are green just like mine. And then Rob is kind of goofy. I'm kind of goofy like Rob," she says, curling up today at the Ritz-Carlton in skinny jeans, a plaid shirt and slim navy high-top Converse sneakers.

Foy had fun on set, from riding a furry mechanical bull (meant to be Jacob the werewolf) to keeping a swear jar for her older stars and donating the proceeds to St. Jude's hospital. "Some of them paid me in advance," she said, laughing. Although Stewart, "did say a couple bad words, I'm not gonna lie," Foy describes Stewart, who guards her character ferociously in the film, as a " best friend-sister-mom all combined."

Plus, she got some cool downtime with the cast. "I heard Kristen play her trumpet," she says, laughing. "Rob got her a trumpet and you could hear in the hotel."

New Rob and Kristen Interview with BILD (Germany) + New Picture

Who sees them kissing on-screen sees: It's love. Who stands between them feels: There is a yo-yo love.

Their comments: No comment!

Only their hearts know the truth!

KRISTEN STEWART - she was 17, shy, stubborn, silent as the "Twilight" madness began.
ROBERT PATTINSON - then 22, a London model who lived in three bags. The buddy typ, book worm, techie.

I met both five times - in five years.

And I've always asked about love!
The answers? Smiles, silence, shrugs. Later a yes.

First it was game, then PR, then hidden love, then separate love. And now?

The German premiere of the last part of the Twilight saga, "Breaking Dawn (release date: Thursday).

BILD: Are you happy that it's over?
Kristen (22): "I'm happy that the love story is told. I feel liberated and I am free, but I do miss it at the same time. "

BILD: What do you regret?
Robert (26): "There is a price, which you have to pay. You are 24 hours in the job, if you go out in public. "
Kristen: "You're trying to protect your life, but at the same time you also rob your life."

BILD: How do you escape from your fame?
Robert: "Fame is like a prison. But I have family and old friends, who are my real world. "
Kristen: "I have to build steel barriers around me. You get a very different view of life and people. You will be thrown out of your comfort zone, you're apprehensive. But this fear is also a welcome feeling when you grow up, want to explore the world! "

BILD: Your dreams and goals in life?
Robert: "I want to make a lot of films and get better."
Kristen: "I don't know what will happen in a year. I never know what to do before the decision is in front of me! "

He smiles. She yawns. When they look at each other, it clicks in their eyes.

In Berlin, Kristen and Robert went bowling in the evening.

The ball of love rolled.

New Rob Interview with Reuters

"Breaking Dawn - Part 2," released this week, is the fifth and final in the series, and Edward's character shifts from brooding, tormented lover to a contented husband and father who must protect his family from an ancient vampire clan.

But Pattinson, 26, still has those rakish good looks that drew a screaming fan base and made him a tabloid fixture. While the avid fan excitement around the "Twilight" series overwhelms him, the British actor hopes his audience will follow him as he moves on.

"It's all about control. Now, I don't feel like I have any control whatsoever," he told Reuters with a laugh.

"They're a very ardent fan base, so to figure out a way to harness that vehement audience, it's definitely an important thing."

Pattinson became a pinup as the angst-ridden Edward, but said he wasn't worried he might be typecast as the perpetual brooding hero. "I'm not particularly brooding in my real life," he said.

The actor has already been laying the ground for a career beyond "Twilight." He played a 19th century French gigolo in "Bel Ami" and a billionaire with an existential crisis in David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis," although both films fared poorly at the box office earlier this year.

More of Kristen's Interview with Speakeasy

Speakeasy recently chatted with the 22-year-old actress about her career after “Twilight” and her other new movie, an adaptation of the classic Jack Kerouac novel “On the Road,” directed by Walter Salles and co-starring Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, and Kirsten Dunst, among others.

Stewart said she first read “On the Road” when she was a freshman in high school and was taken with its cast of characters, many of whom are wild creative types, searching for inspiration, love and meaning. “And I read that and I was like ‘I need to find people like that. I need to find people that I want to run after,’” she said. “I think that it’s rare, those people aren’t very common.”

The novel, Stewart said, still resonated with her as an adult. She said she was drawn to people who had a youthful exuberance, no matter how old they were.

“Most of the people that I want to run after that I really admire, they don’t lose that, I mean, they’re not all my age, they’re a lot older than me,” Stewart said. “It starts when you’re young, but as soon as you view that as like a youthful thing, what have you done with your life? Do you know what I mean? You should probably hold on to that.”

Rob's Autographed Guitar to be Auctioned for Dio Cancer Fun

More than 100 guitars bearing the signatures of rock, pop and country stars including Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Tom Morello, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney will be auctioned Dec. 1 to benefit the Dio Cancer Fund established in memory of hard rock singer Ronnie James Dio.

The instruments will be previewed Nov. 19 at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, where they will be auctioned two weeks later.

Other artists who have signed donated guitars include members of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Metallica and the Alice Cooper Band. The guitar signed by Van Halen is a prototype electric made for him. The auction also includes a custom hand-carved Ronnie James Dio memorial guitar made by DBZ Guitars and an acoustic-electric guitar signed by “Twilight” film series star Robert Pattinson.

The preview will run from 3 to 5 p.m. and will be attended by Dio’s widow, Wendy Dio, and Gloria Butler, chairman of the Dio Cancer Fund, which was created after the 2010 death from cancer of Dio, the onetime lead singer of Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Dio. Some musicians who donated instruments also are expected to be on hand.

Julien’s is at 9665 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills. More details are available at Julien's website.

The picture used in this post is just to illustrate the story. That's not the guitar that will be auctioned
