The film features two strong female leads, with Charlize battling Kristen Stewart’s Snow White. The Oscar winner told me the two clicked instantly. “We had amazing chemistry, right off the bat,” she said. “We just really hit it off.”
“We had a great time doing it,” Charlize said of the film. “I hope people enjoy it as much as we did.” Not too worry — we’re pretty sure we’re going to love it.
Stewart, best known for her role as Bella Swan in the blockbuster movie saga, will represent a to-be-announced scent which is expected to be launched this fall.
“Balenciaga has always stood out to me,” Stewart told WWD on Thursday. “Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”
Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière called Stewart the muse for the new scent. “Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” said Ghesquière. “From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys,’ I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.”
Added Isabelle Guichot, chief executive officer of Balenciaga: “Kristen is the perfect choice as she embodies Nicolas Ghesquière’s unique vision for the second chapter in our fragrance history.”
Charlotte Gainsbourg remains the face of Balenciaga Paris, the first scent from the house, which was launched in 2010.
“Kristen stood out as an evident choice for this new fragrance,” added Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American fragrances for Coty Prestige, a division of Coty Inc. “She has a unique sense of style, quite original and chic in the way she mixes fashion elements. Her elegant modernity and innate rebel style perfectly match with the spirit of Balenciaga.”
Stewart noted that after a busy 2011, she’s taking a bit of time to relax. “My horizon is clear as of now (except for this!) in terms of new projects, which feels incredible,” she said. “I have finished three films I can’t wait to see come to fruition this year, ‘On The Road,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ and ‘Breaking Dawn 2.’”
GS: Who’s got crazier fans – well, let’s call them ‘passionate’ fans, Viggo Mortensen or Robert Pattinson?
SG: You know I thought it would be Rob, but then when we were in Venice Viggo has some diehard fans, and they just they love him! They freak out for him. But you know Rob doesn’t even have fans … he has this like, CIA. They know where he is, they know everything, they know every detail – they’re on it, so….
GS: That means you’re in it! You know we have a photograph here – every time there’s a photo of you and him together … [this is actually a great shot of the two of you in a scene] …when you get caught up in that, does your life change at all, in any way?
SG: Well, I think when we were shooting I made a really strong effort to not pay attention to any press, or anything, because you’re so involved in your characters and in your work, and you don’t want anything on the outside to inform this working relationship that you’re creating, and so I really tried to block that out, but then afterwards when the shooting finished and people kept saying things to me I kind of thought wow you know – maybe that really was a whirlwind that we were caught up in

Universal studios to release a 'Snow White and The Huntsman' book in April of this year. According to Barnes & Noble the book is already ready for pre-order, and will be released in April 17th, 2012.
A breathtaking new vision of a legendary tale. Snow White is the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman who was dispatched to kill her.

I'm still bah humbug about People's Choice, so here's some more pretty from last year. And I can totally see Rob thinking this everytime he looks or thinks about her...
It was all about the squeals, screams, and catcalls when Robert Pattinson arrived halfway through the 2012 People’s Choice Awards tonight. And those were just from me.
Heads were turning, people were freaking out, Tweets were exploding, and it all had to do with the lack of one thing… his hair! It looks like the 25-year-old actor is going for a fresh start on his coif because his perfectly imperfect unmanageable tresses were buzzed off! Before he took his seat, next to Betty White, he rocked a black baseball cap — that new haircut was a slow reveal.
Also trimmed down was his “mountain man” beard (as his fans refer to it); Rob sported only a little scruff.
Rob was missing his saga partners Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart as he was there to accept the “Favorite Drama Movie Award” on behalf of “Water For Elephants”. In fact, his “Twilight” co-star Ashley Greene presented him with it!
It was a negative on a green suit for tonight, Rob went for a casual look with a t-shirt, dark wash jeans, and his favorite leather black Converse sneakers. He topped off his look with a navy blue short sleeve chambray shirt by Marc Jacobs!
What did you think of Mr. Pattinson’s PCA style?
