Jackson Rathbone Talks About Vampire Bella

image host

Also on the red carpet was Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the Twilight series.

"It's a really exciting film," Rathbone said when asked about the upcoming and final chapter of Twilight. "We finally get to see Bella as a vampire, which we as actors have all been waiting for."

HollywoodLife.com spoke to Jackson, 27, at the LA premiere of Man On A Ledge and he says Kristen kicks major butt as a vampire in Breaking Dawn!

“You finally get to see Bella realize herself as a vampire,” he tells us. “And that is fun for everybody. You know she is such a powerful force. Kristen really brings this animosity to Bella that we haven’t seen during the course of these films. It is really exciting to see Kristen step up and really bear her teeth, so to speak.”

David Cronenberg Talks About Cosmopolis Winning in MTV Movie Brawl and Rob

image host

Eric Packer is about to embark upon the worst car ride of his life. Thankfully, Robert Pattinson — the actor who plays Packer in "Cosmopolis" — doesn't share his character's fate.

Pattinson fans came out in full force to elect "Cosmopolis" the winner of the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, a weeks-long tournament that pitted several of 2012's biggest releases against one another to determine which film is the must-see cinematic event of the year. After tense battles against titans like "Bel Ami," "The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn: Part 2," "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Hunger Games," it's Pattinson's upcoming indie thriller that took home the grand prize.

It's a surprising result for many onlookers, given that "Cosmopolis" has yet to release a trailer and only has a tentative release date of 2012. But Rob's fans rallied behind their man, opting to support his future in "Cosmopolis" over his past in "Twilight" — a commanding decision from a massive fanbase that demands attention, to say the least. In fact, the movement was so strong that it even caught "Cosmopolis" director David Cronenberg's eye even before the film won the brawl for it all. Shortly after the victory was announced, Cronenberg got on the phone with MTV News to talk about what "Cosmopolis" winning the MTV Movie Brawl means for the film, Pattinson's performance, when fans can expect to see a trailer and much more.

MTV: David, thanks for talking with us! Have you been filled in on what's happened with "Cosmopolis" over here?

David Cronenberg: You know, I've been following it! I'm shocked! I'm shocked and amazed and really tickled. It proves that movie fans are unpredictable and really interesting and really passionate. It's fantastic. I would have never, ever imagined that this would happen.

Noémie Orphelin (French voice of Kristen) Talks About Kristen with Kristen Stewart France

image host

Noémie Orphelin is the French voice of Kristen in all the Twilight movies, but also in What Just Happened?, Jumper, Adventureland and The Runaways.

KristenStewartFrance: What do you think of Kristen and her acting?

N: About her acting: It's not easy to define because in Twilight, she plays a reserved and silent girl. I think that despite of that, she plays well, even if she has some gestures that sometimes, people don't like. When I dubbed her in The Runaways, I realized that she could play something else than a romantic young girl. But to really define her, I'll have to see another movie with her.

KristenStewartFrance: Is it harder to dub her? Because of her gestures and stuff..

N: She's one of the actresses who I feel uncomfortable with. Sometimes, she has a surprising acting that I don't really get. Her deep voice disturb me, knowing that my voice is lighter than hers. The movie with french voices is surely different but I do my best.

KristenStewartFrance: After the Twilight saga, will you keep on dubbing her?

N: I don't know yet but I will probably be called to do some tests for her next movies.

KristenStewartFrance: In which movie do you prefer Kristen?

N: I'd say The Runaways. Even if I dubbed her in like 4 movies, which is not much, I liked her in this one because it was a totally different atmosphere.

Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod Talk About Casting Rob and BTS Details from Bel Ami Production Notes

image host

Casting

"We asked actors that we really wanted to work with, people that we have admired for a long time, explains Donnellan of their casting choices. "Kristin Scott Thomas we know of old. Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Robert Pattinson we have always admired. There’s also Colm Meaney, a wonderful Irish actor who plays Rousset and Phillip Glenister. They are all actors we love."

Ormerod and Donnellan were thrilled to be working with such a diverse cast. Donnellan describes the moment that the actors turned up for rehearsals. "It was absolutely fantastic to see them arriving one after another. They are all incredibly professional and great fun with wicked senses of humour in their own different ways; Uma, Kristin and Christina are all very different people. We had a ball, an absolutely wonderful time because the material was so fantastic, the roles and screenplay are fantastic. Everybody felt like they were being stretched, especially us because it was our first movie. Kristin, Christina, Uma and Robert would all agree that they were doing things they hadn’t done before, which was what made it so thrilling."

Talking about Georges' costumes

Dicks-Mireaux explains how the costumes she designed for Georges help to tell the story of his progression throughout the film. "He wears black virtually all the way. Maupassant writes very clearly about starching, and we spend a lot of time and effort on the shirts. This period is a very transitional period between the boiled shirt and the pleated shirt so we’ve done a combination of the two. We’ve engineered this ingenious way of making sure we can always have the stiff cuffs. I’ve gone for very high collars on Robert because he suits them really well and it makes them all stand up correctly. If you look at the British royal family they seem to wear a slightly broader look. You look at the French drawings and they seem to have a much tighter, narrower look - a bit like Christian Dior suits: that very pinched, nice, narrow, elegant, long lined leg. He had a journey and then right at the end of the journey he sort of dips and goes a little bit more bourgeois and slightly pompous. He thought he might have a moustache at the end."

Georges 'Bel Ami' Duroy

The central character of Georges was a complex and captivating subject for Rachel Bennette, as she explains. "Georges is a difficult character, that’s what makes him so fascinating. He’s quite enigmatic in certain respects and he’s not a typical character in many ways. He’s very reactive as opposed to the active protagonist that you’re used to. So it was a question of trying to get the measure of him."

"He never works and he still gets it all. That’s what’s so maddening about Georges Duroy," Donnellan concurs. "He gets the lot with no effort and it’s something we have to live with. Georges has a talent to get to the top and he’s a businessman with one commodity to sell. Another thrilling thing about Georges is his emptiness; people can project anything into him which is another reason why he’s so successful."

Bennette concludes: "I find Georges really compelling, even if I don’t always like him. There’s something about his audacity, and his daring, and his absolute refusal to be told his place. And there is something quite appealing about that: essentially it is a kind of mad courage that he has."

Rachel Zoe Talks About Her Love for Twilight and Mentions Rob and Kristen with Team-Twilight

You’ve spoken publicly about your love for Twilight. What is it about the series that you love so much?
I would say that you completely lose yourself in the purest form of romance. It’s the first time in so long that you get to see such a strong love, and get so caught up in it without any of the physicality

You’ve also been outspoken about your crush on Robert Pattinson. Have you gotten to meet him yet?
No, I have not met Rob. But, I have many mutual friends and have heard nothing but the loveliest things about him. I think he’s a very talented actor and would love to meet him in the future.

If you could style any of the Twilight cast, who would you pick and why?
Bella and Edward — I would love to dress them as a couple because I think that’s always fun.

If you had to pick: Twilight books or movies?
Movies, because I’m an extremely visual person. I actually read the books after the movies, which was fun because I could see Kristen and Robert as Bella and Edward.

Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Team Edward, obvi.

Edward and Bella's honeymoon bed for sale!

Fans who love “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” can buy a platform bed that looks just like the one in the movie at MASHstudios, a design studio and furniture maker in Los Angeles.
It happens “a lot.”

Someone walks into s’Wonderful Interiors, the quirky furniture and fabric store Dennis Floyd owns with partner Terence Bartholomew in Fort Wayne’s Covington Plaza, and names a movie or TV show.

A couple of times a week, she says, a group of women will come into the store and have their pictures taken by – or on – a bed flanked by a cardboard cutout of Edward Cullen, the heartthrob vampire from the “Twilight” saga.

MASHstudios has sold more than a few of these platform beds.

That’s because the bed is practically a dead ringer for the one in the movie in which Edward claims his Bella – a bed that, minus the special effects, was also created by the studio’s furniture makers.
“It’s the exact same bed,” Magbee says. “Actually, the bed in the movie was a custom version because we built one with a headboard.”

The movie’s set designers liked the bed, she says, for its dominating presence – it’s a solidly rectangular platform with tall, square posts for holding a canopy to create a romantic otherworld on the mattress.
People who have bought the $4,400 bed – and the shop has sold “several” – have liked not just the design but the association with the movie, Magbee says.

“They want that fantasy element. … It’s a conversation starter,” Magbee says of the bed. “People think if Hollywood stylists chose it, it must be a cool piece. It becomes the ‘it’ bed.”
