MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet Interviews with Nicola Peltz (Rob Mentioned)

Next up, Nicola Peltz discusses her role as Katara in The Last Airbender and her next project, Unbound Captives. Note that Peltz says she has only seen the film in 2D and given that the film was being converted into 3D in post-production there is a very good chance that the 3D isn’t finished yet:

Have you seen the movie yet?

PELTZ: Yes I have, last week and it’s amazing.

How did the 3-D look?

PELTZ: I actually didn’t get the chance to see it in 3-D, but I cannot wait to see it in 3-D.

We can’t wait either. What do you have coming up after this?

PELTZ: Unbound Captives, I just got cast in it, it hasn’t started filming yet, but its with Rob Pattinson, Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman and Madeline Stowe wrote it and is gonna direct it.

And when do you think you’re gonna start filming?

PELTZ: Not sure, hopefully soon, I cannot wait to do it.

Awesome, thank you so much.

PELTZ: Thank you

HollywoodNews: “New Moon” and Its Actors Win Big at the MTV Movie Awards

The results are in for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, and The Twilight Saga did it again: “New Moon” and its actors pulled off wins in all five categories for which the film or its actors were nominated. Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, Global Superstar, and Best Kiss were all won by “New Moon” actors. And, the film itself won the biggest award of the evening, Best Movie.

As reported previously, the Twilight actors were competing against one another or themselves in most categories awarded to individual actors. Such was the case for Global Superstar (for which Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner all competed), Best Male Performance (for which Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both competed), and Best Kiss (for which Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson competed for “New Moon” simultaneously to Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning competing for “The Runaways”). Though there were winners and losers, the Twilight franchise always came out on top.

So, who were the individual winners? Kristen Stewart won for Best Female Performance, Robert Pattinson for both Best Male Performance and Global Superstar, and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for Best Kiss. Beyond the “New Moon” win for Best Movie, a sixth award was won for Twilight Saga actor, Anna Kendrick, for her performance not in “New Moon” but for “Up in the Air”.

Other memorable moments for Twilight fans included another world premiere “Eclipse” clip, quirky acceptance speeches, and more spots featuring Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Les Grossman. There was also a fair amount of Twilight banter among other of the show’s presenters. Stay tuned for more on that tomorrow…

E! Online: Rob Pattinson Steals the Show and a Kiss From Kristen

As Team Edward gears up to claim victory over Team Jacob this month when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse finally hits theaters, Twihards let it be known that they’re not done celebrating the splendor that was New Moon yet.

The vampirific sequel was named Best Movie at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday and saw its reach extend into five categories overall, more proof that the young’uns who vote for such things don’t give two hoots what critics say, they just want their Ed TV.

And it’s ironic that there’s now an award for Best WTF Moment, considering the entire telecast itself was, in fact, a chain of WTF moments. Some were excruciatingly bad (A for effort, host Aziz Ansari) but, happily, many ranged from quite funny to downright hilarious.

First of all, perhaps sensing cinematic blood in the water once again, Robert Pattinson and his smokin’ short ‘do had a very dominant night.

The British heartthrob took home a leading three gilded buckets of popcorn, including the first-ever bucket for Global Superstar, a fans’ choice award for which he beat out both of his Twilight cosuperstars as well as Zac Efron and Johnny Depp.

Pattinson also won for Best Male Performance, after which he endearingly thanked his parents for conceiving him and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, “who I owe a lot now, like everything.”

Kristen Stewart, winner for Best Female Performance for New Moon, gave one of her signature nonspeeches, first asking the stars of Grownups, who presented her with the award, if they “want to do this for me?”

“Thank you so much. I guess Twilight is really awesome, and I agree. Whoo!” she gave a thumbs-up. [Director] Chris Weitz, I haven’t talked to him in awhile. How cool is this, right? I’m going to peace out and thank you so much.”

Pattinson, sitting with his knees tucked under his chin, looked positively dazzled the entire time, however. And that must have stirred his inner mischief-maker because, when he and Stewart made their second trip in as many years to the podium to accept the popcorn for Best Kiss, he didn’t let his costar get away with her usual “it takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing,” and planted one on her anyway when her guard was down.

Stewart somehow managed not to spontaneously combust

Six Billion Stories and Counting – Can RPattz escape the vampire tag?

The two Twilight sagas have sold more than $US1.1 billion worth of tickets globally and have made Robert Pattinson a bona fide star. So why haven’t audiences clamoured to watch the English actor whenever he steps outside of the vampire world – poor career choices or limited ability?

His performance as a depressed, star-crossed lover beset with a family tragedy in Remember Me was widely panned and the melodrama grossed a mediocre $54 million worldwide this year.

Even worse, Little Ashes, in which he portrayed the artist Salvador Dali, scraped up less than $800,000 last year. How to Be, one of his earlier efforts which pre-dates Twilight and which featured him as an apathetic guy who recruits a Canadian self-help guru to help sort out personal issues, failed to get a theatrical release in the US and premiered on a pay-per-view channel.

Promoting the last Twilight release last year, Pattinson admitted, “I guess I’m still a little bit blind as to what my actual economic viability is outside of the series. I mean it’s definitely different. You get offered stuff that you would’ve never have dreamed of being offered before but that’s also scary as well.”

The actor known to his fans as RPatts has three movies due for release in the next year or so which he no doubt hopes will prove his talents extend way beyond playing Edward Cullen and Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

All three have solid casts and on paper look promising. In Declan Donnellan’s period romance Bel Ami, he’ll star as a young journalist from an impoverished background who becomes one of the most successful men in Paris by bedding some of the city’s most glamorous and influential women. Among his conquests are Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci.

Francis Lawrence’s Water for Elephants seems to offer quite a challenge as he plays a 90-year-old man who reminisces about his life during the Depression when he worked in a travelling circus and had an affair with the wife of an abusive animal trainer. The film based on a popular Sara Gruen novel co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz.

Perhaps the most commercial of the three is Unbound Captives, a Western in which he’ll appear alongside Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. Marking the directorial debut of actress Madeleine Stowe, the film follows a woman (Weisz) whose husband is killed and her two children kidnapped by a Comanche war party in 1859. She’s rescued by a frontiersman played by Jackman; Pattinson will play the son.

The 24-year-old Pattinson as the son of 40-year-old Weisz? That would require a lot of make-up for Rachel, and some convincing acting from Rob.

These Twilight lovers have fans young and old cooing and curious as to their relationship status and weakening in the knees over their palpable sex appeal. There’s no doubt that the offspring of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson would be adorable.

The British actor reveals how reading scripts for possible roles stokes his desire to have children one day, saying,

…whenever I see a part now with a younger brother, or a part where I’ve got a kid… I just love the idea of that. I think I’m getting broody. It’s so bizarre.

MTV – Robert Pattinson Compares ‘Eclipse’ To ‘A Horror Film’ At The 2010 MTV Movie Awards

E! News – Inside Rob & Kristen’s Cuddly MTV Movie Awards

We say this completely with no bias: Kristen Stewart was one of the best dressed ladies at last night’s MTV Movie Awards.

K.Stew was one of the last to show on the red carpet, and wore a D&G strapless dress and extensions back in full force. And while she may have skipped interviews on the carpet, actions spoke louder than words inside the show:

“Rob and Kristen know exactly how to work the mystery of their relationship,” an insider says about the crafty, yet still legit couple. “They know all eyes are on them at big events.”

Sill, maybe that means Robsten’s more comfortable in letting fans in on what is really up between ‘em.

Kristen was rushed into the theater and seated next to BF Robert Pattinson before accepting the first award of the night?for Best Female Performance for New Moon. Rob looked on quite adoringly.

This put in motion NM sweeping up almost every award of the night, most notably Robsten winning Best Kiss for the second year in a row.

“Kristen tripped right when she got up,” an onlooker tells us, which was of course shown on TV. “She was so cute, she just laughed it off, shaking her head, after the camera cut away, and Rob didn’t take his hand off her lower back until they got to the stage.”

We all caught wind of the awkward yet incredibly sexy tension onstage before Rob shocked us (and yes…Kristen, too) by stealing a quick kiss there at the end of their acceptance speech. After being rushed backstage Robsten “had the giggles” and then were eventually ushered back into the audience.

“Each time Rob or Kristen would come back into the theater, the whole audience would erupt in applause,” says a source inside. “And each time Rob and Kristen would smile and wave to the fans.”

After winning Best Kiss, Kristen eventually went back to her seat, up front behind Sandra Bullock, while Rob was taken to stage right, to give him easier access to approach the podium when he won Best Male Performance.

“When Rob won, Kristen proudly gave a huge lip-biting smile, and clapped as he took the stage,” a spy seated near K ‘fesses.

Pattinson then thanked his parents for conceiving him (hey babe, we’re all grateful) and gave a special thanks to Kristen?long pause?because without her the movies wouldn’t exist. Uh huh, way to give thanks to your girlfriend without drawing too much attention. Whatever works for you two, we love it!

After what seemed like an hour and a half of Rob, Kristen, and Taylor Lautner shuffling around the Gibson Amphitheatre, and their presentation of the Eclipse sneak-peek, Rob and Kristen were finally back and seated next to each other near the end of the awards. (And with no publicist in between them, talk about big relaysh steps.)

“They literally did not stop talking and laughing the entire time together, until Best Movie was announced,” adds our eyes a few rows away. “Every now and then Kristen would lay her head jokingly on Rob’s shoulder, he’d put his hand on her leg, and they genuinely looked like they were having a lot of fun.”

As for the rest of the cast, they were all seated a little ways back from Robsten and Tay-Tay. BFF’s Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser were girl-talking throughout the show, with Peter Facinelli, Anna Kendrick, and the rest of the cast (minus Ashley Greene who was celebrating one of her best friend’s b-day’s instead) were seated around ‘em.

After the final award Rob, Kristen and Taylor immediately left, while the rest of the cast did a bit more press.

Still, not a bad night to be a vampire! Or a human, but only if you were in New Moon
.
