Indy Darling Danica Patrick (NASCAR) Talks Racing, Guys, Twilight and Robert Pattinson

Indy darling Danica Patrick has a starring role in the new high-powered racing game Blur, which hits shelves on May 25th. She also has a pretty big race five days later. When she’s not taking names, she’s talking men’s style, and ogling Robert Pattinson like a teenager.

Details: I read in Sports Illustrated that you have a crush on Rob Pattinson. What do you think of the photos from his Details cover shoot?
Danica Patrick: Do you have it? [Long pause while she flips through the story.] Oh my gosh. He does look pretty good. Holy crap. I didn’t know you could show boobs here.

Details: Are you into Twilight?
Danica Patrick: I’m obsessed. I’ve read them all. They did a good job of casting the movie—I mean, Rob looks the part. But I think nothing will ever compare to our own imaginations about, you know, perfection and . . . Dude, they are full on nude, like, they had to wax themselves! [Borat voice] Wah wah wee wah

“Remember Me” is worth watching…and remembering! (IANS Film Review)

Film: ‘Remember Me’; Cast: Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper, Ruby Jerins; Director: Allen Coulter; Rating:***

Life is not lived in great achievements, but in small moments spent with loved ones that haunt you when they are gone. ‘Remember Me’ is a call to live those moments when they are happening, and to remember and yet move on when they have left.

It’s 2001. Six years ago, Tyler’s (Robert Pattinson) brother had hanged himself. And 10 years back Ally (Emilie de Ravin) witnesses the murder of her mother in a mugging incident. Both of them react differently to their tragedies. Ally wants to live every moment, while Tyler becomes broody, rebellious and hates his dad, who he believes to be the cause for his brother’s suicide.

Tyler’s and Ally’s fathers react differently to their tragedies. The former (Pierce Brosnan) buries himself in his business, while the latter (Chris Cooper) becomes over protective – both strangulating their children in their own way. Charles even neglects his 11-year-old daughter, who has a genius for painting.

When fate brings Tyler and Ally together, they fall in love, and find solace in each other. But will their barely teenage romance, survive the storm of the times?

‘Remember Me’ is a film that is a lot like our memories, unhurried and haunting. The end that comes suddenly is a shocking reminder of lives suddenly left incomplete. It might seem pretentious to some, but could also be looked as probable stories of loss and grief on a fateful day in 2001 that changed the history of the world.

The film urges you to remember those lives, and yet in doing so it tells you to exorcise the past and move on. Perhaps it wants to tell you that the past has to be cherished so one could move away from it and ‘live in the moments’.

Pattinson is his broody self made famous by the ‘Twilight’ series. However, if you intend to see the film expecting another teeny-weeny romance or to have a glimpse of his cute self in a cuter film, you’d be disappointed.

Though it is a story of romance between two people barely out of their teens, it is way too serious for the understanding of kids. It is a mature, contemplative film that demands a kind of patience that comes only with age and loss.

Both Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper excel in their well played out roles while Emilie makes the big jump from television into silver screen. But it is director Allen Coulter, another import from television, and first time writer Will Fetters, who with their timing, shine through the film despite a few jarring cinematic moments.

‘Remember Me’ is about the grief of loss and coming to terms with it. But make no mistakes, it is a film easy to dismiss if you are in a hurry. Pay attention, to the film and to your life, or you will miss the most important bits.

Mid-day “Remember Me” Review: “Watch it for Pattinson’s earnest performance!”

What’s it about: Yes it’s the Twilight dude with the messy hairdo. Robert Pattinson gets to brood, sulk, fret and fume yet again. However, this time he isn’t battling werewolves or other vile creatures. He plays Tyler, a rich complicated kid, who meets an uncomplicated girl named Ally (Emilie de Ravin) falling in love with her. However, the story isn’t that simple as it sounds. There are multiple subplots going beneath the surface. A story of an estranged father-son relationship and deep buried family secrets being found. Remember Me touches a myriad of subjects like loss, fragile relations, blood bonds, but above all it talks about love and longing in a time of contempt.

What’s hot: There’s no doubt most of you (fairer sex) will watch it for Pattinson. Fortunately the good news is that the actor who plays the blood-sucking vampire in the Twilight series is actually brilliant here. He still has those perfectly messed locks and gloomy stare, but one gets to see him tackle a character that’s real and not larger than life. Throughout the film there are ample moments to keep you intrigued. Apart from talking about love and treasuring it, the subject has many other elements that make it work. Tyler’s strained relation with his super rich dad, or Ally’s own troubled past and dealing with loss are both handled with maturity.
What’s not: Despite its earnest approach, the second half seems manipulative and gimmicky. We are told that Tyler’s dad has an issue with his son and all the money in the world can’t mend that. Then how come he suddenly warms up to him? Was that the moment the writers thought let’s make the audience reach for their tissues? Either way, it doesn’t serve the purpose. Also the twists and turns keep happening with no logic or reason. Most of the characters behave like they have split personalities. Not to forget the movie is set in 2001 when something really bad happened. Talk about milking tragedies.

What to do: Watch it for Pattinson’s earnest performance, and savour it till he returns as Edward Cullen to annoy the hell out of us.

Rob’s Handwriting Font

TwilightPoison created a font from Rob's actual handwriting!

Yes, it’s ugly, but you have Rob to blame for that, not me.
I took letters from all the autographs he’s ever signed and turned them into a font. You can see for yourself that this really is what his handwriting looks like by googling “Robert Pattinson autographs”.
The font took me a lot longer to make. There are no special characters or numbers, just letters, because we’ve never seen Rob writing any of them.

Kristen is in moviefone’s ”Sexiest Women of Summer Movies 2010”

She Plays: Bella Swan, the teenage girl lucky enough to win the affections of sexy vampire Edward Cullen.

Where Else You’ve Seen Her: As Joan Jett in ‘The Runaways’ and in the other ‘Twilight’ saga movies.

Why She’s Hot: Kristen doesn’t fit the textbook “hot Hollywood actress” template, and that’s what makes her so attractive — and it’s probably the reason Edward and Jacob continually fight over her in ‘Eclipse.’ She’s subtle, not overly flashy or flirty, and has a dark, slightly sourpuss edge to her. Plus, if you saw ‘Adventureland,’ you no doubt have a crush on her like we do.

Us Magazine: Rob Tracked Mud Into Family’s Home on Surprise Visit

Special R-Patz delivery!

On May 4, the Mele family of Naperville, IL. — diehard Twilight fans who dress up like the films’ characters — had a surprise home visit from Robert Pattinson. The hunk’s once-in-a-lifetime drop-by was coordinated and taped for the May 13 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Mom Maria Mele explains exclusively to UsMagazine.com that she reached out to Oprah producers two weeks ago; she hoped to attend the Chicago-studio taping of an episode where Pattinson and Eclipse costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were slated to appear.

Claiming the studio audience was full, producers told Maria that her family might be featured in a Skype interview with Oprah Winfrey about their extreme Twilight fandom. Mele — who once traveled with her daughter to NYC to “stalk” Pattinson during a promotional tour for his flick Remember Me — quickly coordinated a photo shoot to send to producers.

“As crazy as we are, we all dressed up like the Cullens,” she recounts of the saga’s vampire clan. “My son looks exactly like [Pattinson's character] Edward, his girlfriend looks like [Stewart's heroine] Bella, my daughter looks like Rosalie [played by Nikki Reed]. So, we took some really great mock Twilight pictures outside in our front yard. They were posing in the tree, looking like vampires.”

Instantly convinced, producers told Mele the Skype interview was a go. When a camera crew showed up the night of May 4 outside the family’s front door, Mele knew something beyond a live video chat was up.

“We answered the door, and it was Robert! He was just amazing, just like we imagined him to be,” she gushed.

After Pattinson came inside, the family took a while to compose themselves.

“He wasn’t here for very long, maybe ten minutes,” Mele explains. “We were screaming for the first five! We were all going nuts. ”

Notoriously shy Pattinson (who turned 24 on Thursday) didn’t balk at their enthusiasm, Mele says.

“He hugged every one of us. I told him about me and my daughter coming to see us in New York. He was like ‘Oh, I think I remember you!’ I was like, ‘That’s pretty funny — no you don’t!’ He has a great sense of humor.”

How did the British star look? “Honestly, I was in so much shock that I couldn’t concentrate on anything — I was way too excited. His hair was messy and perfect. He’s very thin.”

“I couldn’t believe how tall he was!” she adds. For a group photo, “he stood up and squatted so he’d be sort of our height.”

The actor left another kind of impression in the family’s abode. “Rob had a mud mark on his shoe when he walked in, and we had just had our carpet cleaned. I told my husband, ‘You are never washing that footprint!’ It was hilarious.”

Watching the segment on the show (the Mele family also scored tickets to the live taping in Chicago), Maria was heartened by Pattinson’s comments as he left their house. “He said ‘Oh, I really want to stay here and hang out with them…He actually liked us!”

Rob and Kristen: How They’ve Dodged the Dating Question

Not even Oprah Winfrey can get Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to come clean about their relationship.

On her show Thursday, she asks them: “There are all these rumors about the two of you dating. Is it true?”

“Kristen’s pregnant,” Pattinson, 23, immediately jokes. Stewart, 19, then replies, “He really loves to shock people because he thinks it’s funny. No, we’ve actually had this conversation. He’s having the baby.”

UsMagazine.com has rounded up the wacky ways the two have avoided answering the question over the past year:

• “The only emotional connection of relevance is with my dog,” he told Details this year. “My relationship with my dog, it’s ridiculous.”

• Last year, he told Today’s Matt Lauer he was actually dating a costar whose name rhymed with “Tristan Blewart … there was a Liston Hewitt last year. That would be true, yes … I actually come up with these rumors myself.”

• “It’s so retarded,” she told Vanity Fair of rumors in 2009. “We’re characters in this comic book.”

• When asked last year by Harper’s Bazaar who is more romantic, Stewart immediately said Pattinson: “I think romance is anything honest. As long as it’s honest, it’s so disarming.” When Pattinson was posed with the same question, he replied: “What did Kristen say?”

• “I probably would’ve answered [the romance question] if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” she told Entertainment Weekly last year. “But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer.”

• “It doesn’t make any difference what you say,” he told Vanity Fair last year. “I’ve literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it’s like ‘Oh, they were on secret dates!’ It’s like “Where? I can’t get out of my hotel room!’”

• “I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them,” she recently told Elle. “People say, ‘Just say who you’re dating. Then people will stop being so ravenous about it.’ It’s like, No they won’t! They’ll ask for specifics.”

Why are grown women smitten with today’s teen idols? (Rob mention)

Never too late to swoon
Why are grown women smitten with today’s teen idols?

Like many mothers and daughters, Mary Irizarry and her 12-year-old argue sometimes. But their disputes aren’t over texting or clothing. They disagree about which male “Twilight’’ star is cuter.

“My daughter says Jacob [played by 18-year-old Taylor Lautner] is stronger and has better muscles,’’ said Irizarry 33, a salesperson and administrative assistant from Springfield, “but I think Edward [played by 24-year-old Robert Pattinson] is better looking and more romantic.’’

She allowed herself a sigh. “I’m all about Edward.’’

Anyone who has seen her Edward Cullen-emblazoned fleece blanket — enjoyed when her husband is working an overnight shift — would not disagree. “When People magazine named [Pattinson] one of the sexiest men alive, I definitely bragged about him.’’

Oh, be still her maternal bosom. Irizarry is one of those moms with schoolgirl crushes — adult women who are happily obsessed with young stars, as well as movies and TV shows aimed at teens and tweens. Unlike earlier generations of women, who either kept secret their crushes on youthful stars like Elvis or the Beatles — or simply didn’t have them, today many moms see nothing wrong in proclaiming their fascination.

“The notion of motherhood was connected with adulthood’’ in the 1950s and ’60s, said Judith E. Smith, a professor of American Studies at UMass-Boston. “Youth didn’t want the adults to get youth culture, and the adults didn’t want to get it either. Why would they? That wasn’t their world.’’

But now? Moms are online chatting on sites like “Gossip Girl Moms,’’ born of the young-adult book series and CW TV show, or “Vampire Moms,’’ for fans of the “Vampire Diaries’’ TV show and books. They’re reading Disneyfamily.com, where a story called “Our 20 Favorite Mom Crushes,’’ includes teen idols Zac Efron and Pattinson. They’re mooning over 16-year-old pop star Justin Bieber on “Oprah.’’

Tina Fey captured the mindset recently on “Saturday Night Live,’’ when she played a high school teacher smitten with a student played by Bieber. “I don’t know whether I want to marry him or put him in a stroller and push him around the mall,’’ Fey’s character muses in a dreamy, if somewhat icky, voice-over.

A variety of cultural forces are turning women with crow’s feet into lovesick post-post-adolescents. For starters, the societal fixation with youth leads some people to believe they are still, in fact, young. If 40 is the new 20, what’s so wrong about lusting after “High School Musical’’ star Efron, even if Rolling Stone did call him a “poster boy for tweenyboppers’’?

The closer relationship between today’s mothers and daughters, in which both generations wear similar clothes, drink the same lattes, and collegially follow “American Idol’’ and “Glee,’’ is also a factor, experts say.

“There’s such a youth culture right now,’’ said Elisabeth Gruner, an associate professor of English at Virginia’s University of Richmond. “It’s just inescapable — this sense that it’s better to be young, and that you can and should stay young, and that the interests and concerns of the younger are everyone’s.’’

Literature and entertainment aimed at the young can have real appeal for some adults, she added.

“They recapture the way that adolescent crushes were all-consuming and had relatively light consequences,’’ Gruner said. “At 14 or 16, whether he talks to you or not feels like a huge life or death issue. When you are 50, you’ve been through some life or death issues, and you wish that whether he talked to you or not was the biggest issue in your life.’’

Kit Yarrow, a professor of psychology and marketing at Golden Gate University, points out that society places far fewer restrictions on relationships today when it comes to age, race, or gender. The rise of the “cougar,’’ (that is, older women dating younger men), gay marriage, multiracial families — all set the stage for a greater acceptance, even when it’s just a silly crush. “So, it’s OK for older women to drool openly.’’

Besides, it’s fun to re-experience teen love when you’re nearing middle age, said Lori Hosea, 36, a hairdresser from South Boston who considers Edward from “Twilight’’ perfect. “The books bring up all those feelings of new love, and how you get obsessed. You’re hoping he’ll call, you get a mani-pedi, you get waxed. That’s totally faded when you get to 40 and you’re married,’’ Hosea said. “You’re barely shaving your legs.’’

While the “Twilight’’ book and movie series have made her feel younger and more romantic toward her husband, there’s a downside, she admits. “When you’re reading the books you feel 18, and then you look in the mirror and you no longer look it. I find myself thinking I could do a face peel or something to turn back the clock.’’

But Hilary Missan, a Brookline mother of two with a major thing for Efron, 22, is definitely not suffering a disconnect between her actual age — late 40s — and the age she feels, which is somewhere between 18-25. “The feelings I have when I see him, it’s like I’m back in high school, so it seems normal.’’

Missan, a casting director at Boston Casting, recalled the first time she laid eyes on Efron, in “High School Musical.’’ “I was like, this guy is incredible. He is very handsome but that’s not what drew me to him. It’s his raw talent.’’ As an amateur singer and performer, Missan said, something in him “connects’’ to her.

It’s a connection her daughters wish didn’t exist. “It’s embarrassing,’’ her older girl, Amelia Elliot, 13, said. “She sometimes sees him in a movie, and she’s like, Oh, he looks so cute. But I should be saying that. I’m younger than her.’’

But maybe mom’s not to blame. It turns out she’s being targeted by media firms that know she’ll be watching shows with her daughter. “When you have a Millennial target’’ — someone born between 1980 and 2000 — “you necessarily have a secondary target of her mother,’’ said Jack MacKenzie, president of the Millennial Strategy Program at Frank N. Magid Associates, a consulting firm. “That’s the way it is today. Exploiting that is smart business.’’

Many mothers watch teen programs not because they’re interested in the shows — at least not at first — but as a way to bond with their daughters, said Debbie Mandel, author of “Addicted to Stress: A Woman’s 7-Step Program to Reclaim Joy and Spontaneity in Life.’’

Still, she offered a cautionary note: Some daughters will be bothered by the attempt at intimacy. “They are trying to break away. This is not mom’s territory, so why is she trespassing?’’

Perhaps no one is better positioned to see adult women’s interest in all things teen than Lana Veenker. As a casting director for the first “Twilight’’ film, she regularly hears from fans, 40 percent of whom are between 25 and 42. Some send gifts they hope will be passed along to their on-screen crushes.

“A lot of them were inspired to reevaluate their relationships with their husbands,’’ Veenker said. And then there are the women hoping to date the stars. Veenker reported that one older fan offered herself up to be Pattinson’s date to the Oscars. “I can get a dress by Thursday,’’ she wrote.

Twilight Cast Squabbling over Money

Will the family that slays together, stay together?

The Cullen family could be seeing some new faces in familiar roles unless some of the Twilight actors, notably Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, are able to successfully renegotiate new contracts for the smash-hit film franchise’s final installments.

While reports are flying that the actors’ contract demands are holding up production of Breaking Dawn, which will be split into a two movies, insiders tell PEOPLE that isn’t true.

“Negotiations started a week ago [but] the reports they are holding up production aren’t true because there is no shooting script and production isn’t supposed to start until November, so no way is it holding up production,” says one source close to the deal-making.

“There was never a deal in place for the fourth movie,” the source adds. “They had a three-picture deal which has expired, and it’s standard industry practice to renegotiate, and it’s standard industry practice to negotiate on the fourth movie.”

Cullen kids Lutz and Greene have reportedly been trying to score pay days of about $1.5 million, which is still well below what stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are bringing in. And reports have circulated that the studio could simply replace them if negotiations go sour.

Another source close to the actors tells PEOPLE that “this renegotiation is nothing out of the ordinary.”

“It’s the first opportunity the actors have had to renegotiate at all. Their original contracts were through the first three films,” says the source. “Those first three [movies] obviously did amazingly and the kids didn’t share in the profits they didn’t get any bonuses.”
