Will ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ make fans mourn Riley’s loss?

One of the most immediately noticeable (and perhaps impactful) aspects of the new The Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer is the amount of Riley it brought.
By now, it’s no secret that the character Riley will have more than just the few seconds of face time he had in the book version of the story (much like Felix in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, but probably even more so). Not only did the character get a last name for the film (“Biers”), but Xavier Samuel was one of only two castmates whose on-set photograph director David Slade shared on Twitter (the other was, of course, Taylor Lautner). So, it’s no surprise that we saw him in the trailer. What was a little surprising was how much we got to see of him.
Now, there are some conjectures being thrown around on this issue, such as the idea that the action end is being promoted to encourage an expanded audience or that some sequences involving other choice characters are still being worked on. Whatever the issue with that may be, the amount of content containing Riley in the trailer certainly indicates that he’ll be a character of heightened importance for this movie.
Here are the number of times each character appeared in the new trailer.
Bella 8
Edward 6
Riley 5
Jacob 4
Volturi 4
Newborns 4
Victoria 3
Werewolves 3
Alice 3
Carlisle 2
Jasper 2 4
Emmett 1
Riley beats out Jacob in trailer time? Just below Edward? That’s a good bit of inclusion.
In the book, Riley’s a character whose destruction you, as a reader, become eager for. His death means the near end of this epic battle, and we don’t know enough about him to hesitate in that conviction.
So, with him becoming so much more critical and expanded upon in the film version of Eclipse, one has to wonder whether Twilight fans will begin to sympathize with him.
With Twilight, the villain was James. James was difficult to care about because he basically snaps to a decision to destroy Bella with no logic or persona to speak of (except that he was a tracker who liked a challenge).
With New Moon, the bad guys were Laurent, Victoria, and arguably the Volturi. The level of investment that we as film-goers had with these characters was rather slight. We didn’t follow Laurent around or hear what he was up to before his demise in the meadow, so it wasn’t hard to swallow his death. With Victoria, she was looming in the background, and we knew that she wanted justice for James’ death, but she was more just there for the special effects potential. The Volturi certainly weren’t overly sympathetic characters in New Moon.
So, with these characters, it was a matter of watching what happened in the book pan out on-screen. Nothing was new except the method of delivery, really.
Now that we’ve seen this fragment of Eclipse, though, we can see that not only will we the movie bring us Riley’s excruciating (and rather sad) transformation experience, but we will also witness him raising a newborn army for his creator and love interest. The parallels between Jasper Hale’s history and Riley’s present-day circumstances will be quite clear and drawn upon, it seems.
Add that to the fate we already know from the book (that he’s doing it all for his creator and love interest), and we might just experience the substance of this story in a new way . .

The great 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' trailer debate: Bella's engagement ring

Right now, there are a great many conversations and debates being waged about the newest The Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer, but one that seems to hold particular significance for a lot of fans is the question of whether Bella's engagement ring fits the literary bill. The ring was shown in passing in the first trailer for Eclipse, but it received undeniable and prominent placement in the latest.
Coming off of the reveal, there seems to be a split in the fandom as to whether the ring matches popular perception of Stephenie Meyer's description.
Only trouble is there may not be a common perception at all.
A number of vendors have come out with their own versions of the Bella engagement ring, and the results are quite varied. While there are a couple (here and here, for instance) that look a lot like what we see here in the picture, there are others still that look very different (like this one or this one).
Thus, there doesn't seem to be any achievable market consensus about the way the ring looks.
So, here's how the book describes it:
Nestled into the black satin, Elizabeth Masen’s ring sparkled in the dim light. The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold — delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.
Comparing the image with the text, it seems that the ring chosen has all of the description's elements. It's certainly nestled in black satin, and there is indeed a long oval face with slanted, web-like settings and round stones. We can't see the entire band, but it looks pretty dainty from what is visible here.
So, in a technical sense, the ring has hit all of the right notes.
Still, any time you conjure up a mental image as important as something like Bella's engagement ring (or Edward's Volvo, or the sparkling effect . . . etc.) from the books, it's difficult to displace that vision for another offered by the film.
It seems that this is just one of those film fragments that will please some but not others. It is one of those situations, though, where you could go to Vegas with the bet that Stephenie Meyer was a key player in the selection decision

Final 'Eclipse' Trailer: Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner Team Up for Battle

The final trailer for the highly-anticipated "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" has finally been presented. On Friday, April 23, Dakota Fanning who reprises her Jane role in this third installment of the "Twilight Saga" series debuted the promo video during her appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show".
This sneak peek gives out the first look at newborn blood sucker army which is formed by Bryce Dallas Howard's Victoria in her bid to kill Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan and avenge the death of James. The video also offers a peek at the moment Bella finds herself surrounded by danger which forces Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen to make Taylor Lautner's Jacob Black his ally.
Other glimpses at the epic vampire-on-werewolf battle are included in this trailer as well. At one point, it sees Jasper, played by Jackson Rathbone, bringing his military training to the forefront of the action.
"The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" will be released in U.S. theaters on June 30. Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli return, while Jodelle Ferland, Jack Huston and Catalina Sandino Moreno are among the new cast members.

Read on to check out the photo in its full size.

MTV takes on The Eclipse Trailer
Friday is always the best day of the week, but April 23 feels a little extra special, and we have one person to thank: Oprah.
As we all now know, the Queen of Talk is a Twilighter herself, and she unveiled the "OME!"-worthy final trailer for "Eclipse." Naturally, we've assembled our shot-by-shot analysis, exploring the good, the bad and the Bella. Read on, and then be sure to give us your reactions in the comments below!
Shot 1: Establishing shot of the La Push/ Forks area. Ain't it pretty?
Shot 2: A dire-looking Jacob Black, walking toward the camera.
Shot 3: "Jacob," Bella asks, standing next to Edward. "What are you doing here?"
Shot 4: "I'm here to warn you," he responds.
Shot 5: A close-up of a pale-but-earnest Edward, ready to throw down with the wolf-man. "Just leave," he says. "Now."
Shot 6: "She has a right to know," Jacob responds, eliciting a look of concern from Bella and a simple "What?" that will soon open an entire Pandora's box of drama.
Shot 7: Welcome to the city! "We've been tracking this situation in Seattle for a while," Edward says over a shot of the metropolis, a very different sight for a "Twilight" film.
Shot 8: A person (who appears to be Riley) runs for his life down a dark alley and then is struck down by an unseen attacker. Edward continues to speak of "unexplained disappearances, killings" while Bella looks on in concern.
Shot 9: Have you been wondering what a David Slade-directed "Twilight" movie will look like? At this point in the trailer, our best glimpse yet begins. Ominous music plays over a dark scene as we see a burning car, bloodthirsty teens and a glimpse of apocalyptic chaos that feels like it belongs in a zombie movie or something.
Shot 10: "Somebody is creating an army," Carlisle explains. Gee, who could that be?
Shot 11: "An army of vampires?" Bella responds.
Shot 12: We see the army of "newborns" marching into town and galvanizing their forces. They may be bloodsucking maniacs, but you have to admit: They're very well-organized.
Shot 13: Alice warns Bella: "They're coming here."
Shot 14: Carlisle speaks with Jacob (isn't it weird when two actors who've been in two movies together finally appear onscreen for the first time?) and says, "This is going to be an ugly fight, with lives lost." On behalf of his Quileute brothers and sisters, Jacob responds: "We're in."
Shot 15: We see some hungry-looking wolves coming over a hill. "As long as we get to kill some vampires," Jacob says to Edward with a smirk. Best line of the trailer?
Shot 16: The newborns figure out a way to get across the water and enter Forks. I'm sorry — and some might be mad at me for pointing this out — but the way this shot looks, it's ripping off George Romero's zombie water-crossing scene in "Land of the Dead" pretty blatantly.
Shot 17: Title Card: "From the worldwide bestseller ..."
Shot 18: We see the ominous Volturi, getting ready to lay the smackdown. Judging by Dakota Fanning's recent surprise that her brief "Eclipse" screen time even earned a glimpse in an earlier trailer, we may have now seen her entire performance. "It's time," they say. "Yes it is," Dakota's Jane responds.
Shot 19: This one's for the boys out there: It's action time! Shirtless romance is put on the shelf for a moment as the good vamps and bad vamps square off, wolves alongside the Cullens. Look closely, and you'll see Alice and Jasper among the sprinting combatants, ready to take down some newborns.
Shot 20: Title card: " ... The motion picture phenomenon ... "
Shot 21: Wolves and vampires going at it, real end-of-the-world stuff, dogs and cats, living together. Title card: " ... The World Is Waiting For."
Shot 22: We see Edward handing Bella a jewelry box and smiling. Clearly, he's decided to take Beyoncé's advice.
Shot 23: Jacob in his workshop, pounding his fist against a bench. Something tells me it's not because he screwed up the frame on his soapbox car.
Shot 24: The new Victoria, Bryce Dallas Howard, sprints through the woods while bouncing from tree to tree.
Shot 25: Gratuitous no-shirt-Taylor shot! Hey, Slade is showing impressive restraint: It took him 1:14 into the trailer.
Shot 26: Victoria squares off against Edward and Bella in the snow. Looks pretty.
Shot 27: Edward topples the tree, knocking Victoria over a canyon.
Shot 28: Probably the best shot of the whole trailer, as we get a good look at those better-looking wolves that Ashley Greene clued us in on a few weeks ago. As they take down a herd of newborns, we get a nice slow-motion peek. It's only a few seconds, but it sure does look better than the "New Moon" wolves, don't you think?
Shot 29: Title Card: "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"
Shot 30: Title Card: "June 30th, in theaters and IMAX." It can't come soon enough!
What did you think of the trailer? What was your favorite shot? Let us know in the comments below!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart dating and sharing clothes?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are two of Hollywood's hottest stars. They star in the mega popular 'Twilight Saga' movies together, and are rumored to be hooking up off screen as well. But are they dating?
Online reports say yes. Not only have then been spotted various times looking cozy together, but now new pictures show that Kristen is even wearing Rob's clothes. Pattinson and Stewart have been seen both wearing the same white button down long sleeved tee. Does this mean they've been spending long nights together?
According to E! online's resident Robsten gossiper Ted Casablanca Pattinson and Stewart know what they're doing, and it's on purpose. Ted says Robsten is having a little fun with the Twi fans while declaring silently of course, they couple status. What do you think? Who wore the shirt better? (Rob, right?) So, are they secretly hooking up, or are they just good friends, like they've said in the past?

Amazon profits Soar 68% from Twilight Sales

Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson, a bisexual hacker called Lisbeth Salander and the Kindle e-reader have all helped Amazon to a 68pc leap in worldwide profits to almost $300million.
The DVD of The Twilight Saga: New Moon – the latest film in the teenage vampire saga starring Pattinson – led the online retailer’s best-seller list in Britain.
The Millennium trilogy of crime novels by late Swedish novelist Stieg Larsson, about the adventures of Salander and her investigative journalist sidekick Michael Blomkvist, also saw strong demand

ECLIPSE TRAILER PREMIERE'S, PACKS IN A LOT OF ACTION, NO BREE TANNER

We learned earlier in the week from the official “Twilight” Twitter feed that the latest trailer for “Eclipse” is premiering today, on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Oprah, being the all-around badass and friend to the people that she is, understands that you hardened “Twi” fans have no interest in waiting until the late afternoon trailer premiere. So she put the video online early.
It’s a little bit hard to find, but you can check it out by clicking right here. Unlike the previous “Eclipse” trailer, the focus here is on the conflict, the action. If you’re not familiar with the story, red-headed vampire Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) raises a vampire army in Seattle, intent on using her subjects to take revenge on the Cullen clan for the death of her boytoy vamp James (Cam Gigandet) in the first movie. That’s the picture painted in this trailer, which is by far the most action we’ve seen out of the three movies in the series.
I’ve gotta say… I like it. There is some mighty slick action on display in this trailer. I’ve not read the books, but I’m familiar with how “Eclipse” unfolds. This trailer lays out the story as I know it. And I’ll be honest: I’m downright excited to see the vampire vs. vampire/werewolf showdown. The CG doesn’t blow me away, but it didn’t in “New Moon” either. That’s fine. These creatures don’t need to look like Na’vi; they just need to bring the point across, and it looks like they do.
One thing did surprise me however. Where was Bree Tanner? With the recent announcement of Stephenie Meyer’s coming novella, I was convinced that we’d see Bree (Jodelle Ferland) pop up somewhere in this new trailer. Do you think we’ll see her before the movie arrives on June 30? Perhaps in a TV spot or online character featurette? Do you believe that this trailer is the final one, as the original “Twilight” Twitter announced

Kristen's Shag is one of @InStyle's "5 Sexiest Short Cuts" for Spring 2010

The Shag
WHY IT WORKS "This haircut is just incredibly cool in that '70s-Jane-Fonda-in-Klute kind of way. The choppiness shows off Kristen's beautiful, feminine features," says Garren.
WHAT TO ASK FOR Horseshoe-shaped bangs—that is, shorter in the middle than on the sides—and shoulder-length, razored ends. The hair around the crown should be abrupt and bowl-cut short. "You don't want those top layers blended into the length. It should look like two different cuts," he says.
PERFECT FOR Naturally straight, silky hair is ideal because it's literally a shake-and-go style, Garren explains. Skip the cut if your face is square, as it could end up looking too boxy.

Triumph and Tragedy: Cherie Currie on the Hollywood Biopic, Joan Jett, and the Runaways’ Legacy

In just under four years together, the Runaways left an indelible mark on rock history, as one of the first all-female bands to infiltrate the boys club that is rock ‘n’ roll. Cherie Currie sang lead vocals on the group’s two most popular albums, their 1976 self-titled debut and 1977’s Queens of Noise. She unexpectedly left the band at the peak of its powers in 1977, and her new memoir, Neon Angel: A Memoir of A Runaway, and the new biopic The Runaways—starring Dakota Fanning, who plays Currie, Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, and Michael Shannon as their controversial manager Kim Fowley—sheds light on why Currie decided to leave the band, while telling the story of the Runaways’ unlikely rise to fame and the myriad personal and professional difficulties they faced.
Crawdaddy! got a chance to chat with the ex-Runaway at her homebase in Los Angeles.
Crawdaddy!: Hey Cherie! How did this new book and the Runaways movie come together?
Cherie Currie: The original version of the book came out in 1989 (a less-exhaustive biography of Currie, Neon Angel: The Cherie Currie Story, was released in ’89). It was written by Neal Shusterman. In the year 2000, I read the book, and I just felt like I need to write it from a new direction. We started shopping the book, and (producers) John and Art Linson thought it could be a good movie. John was a Runaways fan, and that’s really how it started.
Crawdaddy!: What was it like to watch actors, especially quite famous ones, depict your life on film.
Currie: Well, you could imagine it, putting yourself in my shoes. It was quite an experience to see it all unfold. To have those actors—Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Michael Shannon, and the rest—involved was a dream for me. It was truly the most exciting thing that has happened since the birth of my child.
Crawdaddy!: How involved were you in the filming of The Runaways, and how good of a job do you think Dakota did of portraying you.
Currie: I was there for Dakota. You know, the producers didn’t think it was a great idea for me to be there too much, but I made sure that I was there for her, whenever she needed me. We worked together in pre-production and on the set, and she did a fantastic job.
Crawdaddy!: All things considered, how good of a job do you think (director) Floria Sigismondi, the producers, and the staff did at capturing your group’s real story.
Currie: Well, how do you take two years and turn it into an hour and a half? They had to take poetic license, and it is really only scratching the surface about what really happened with the Runaways and all we were about. My book dives in much deeper and tells a fuller story, but I’m still very happy with how [the film] came out.
Crawdaddy!: So if people like the movie, but want to dig a little deeper, it seems like they should pick up the book…
Currie: Absolutely. The book, my god, so much happened to us that wasn’t in the film. Anyone that is inquisitive about the Runaways should get the book. I’m very proud of it. I dove really deep to present my perspective of what happened. So far, so good, people are appreciating it.
Crawdaddy!: A big talking point in the book and the film is what it was like being an all-female rock group. What was that like for the Runaways?
Currie: You can only imagine what it was like to be a group of five teenage girls in such a male-dominated business. There were many, many struggles and hurdles we had to get over, but we hung in there and that’s that important point. We made a mark. That’s really the moral of the story. You can accomplish anything if you give it all you’ve got.
Crawdaddy!: You guys were (and still are) an extremely influential group, especially to all-female bands like the Go-Go’s, L7, and the Donnas. How proud are you to have been an integral member of such an important band?
Currie: I’m very proud anytime the Runaways are mentioned as influences on younger bands. It makes it all the more worthwhile for me. A lot of female bands have said the Runaways were a jump-off point for them. How could I not be thrilled about that?
Crawdaddy!: So, you’ve been out of the music business for a while, what are you listening to these days?
Currie: [Laughs] Honestly, I listen to a ton of my son Jake’s music. He’s actually going to be playing with me this summer. Other than that, I am a huge fan of classic rock from the ’60s and ’70s…that was such a great era. Really, it’s either classic rock or my son’s music for me.
Crawdaddy!: So, as you just hinted at, you are going to be playing some gigs this summer. How are you feeling about that?
Currie: Yeah, I am going to be doing some shows this summer, and I am just enjoying that the Runaways are getting the recognition they deserve. This is by no means a comeback, this is just me having fun and giving some people some nostalgia. Of course, I am very excited about it. I’m really looking forward to the summer and playing these songs again.
Crawdaddy!: What is your relationship with Joan Jett like these days?
Currie: We’ve rekindled a friendship after 30 years, which has been really great. It was important to hear how she felt about me leaving. Now that we are all grown up and able to laugh about all of it, we’ve been able to regain our friendship. I just wish [drummer] Sandy [West] was here to be a part of it. We do everything with Sandy in mind. I feel she’s with me all of the time. She’s held in all of our hearts. And we sure miss her.

Robert Pattinson in Hungary's Cosmopolitan Magazine: Translated

Translated by @alexandra1116. Thank you!
Vampire hunt in Budapest!
On March 27th, Robert Pattinson arrived in Budapest with the Bel Ami film crew. Of course Cosmo didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to see him. We tried to discover how the 23 year-old actor was able to become so famous in such a short amount of time.
The Price of Close Proximity
It’s 11am on a Tuesday. From a Hungarian Pattinson fansite, I was able to find out the super-secret information that is today’s location. It is staggering how well-informed the site’s administrators are: they knew in advance when Rob would be arriving to Hungary as if they were a secret agency. They’re like spies: they have people at the airport, the hotels and even in the crew.
Szabadság Tér (Freedom Square) is full of starry-eyed girls clutching their cameras and their Twilight books. Everyone’s staring fixedly at an entryway next to an Italian restaurant: it seems like filming is taking place behind the gate covered by a black curtain. I can’t see much from the other side of the road, so I decide to head to the terrace to see if I can sit down at a table. A moody waiter and a guard in a neon jacket blocks my path: “Paying customers only, no gawking.” Thanks for the polite greeting, buddy! A girl calls me over: she says it’s worth ordering something because she was able to watch them filming from a meter away as she was seated at the table closest to the entryway. She recounts all the rules: if you only buy a drink, you can also sit at the farthest tables, if your order is under 2000Ft (note: that’s about 10 dollars) you get seated in the middle, but if you order a hefty lunch (and leave them half your monthly salary in exchange for an entire ox and a bathtub’s worth of gazpacho) you will be able to see Pattinson from very close up. I am not quite determined enough for this, so I head back into the crowd.
Is he really so handsome?
I haven’t even taken my first step when the curtain opens and... a make-up artist comes out. Everyone’s holding their breath. Out comes a girl with short hair who seems like an assistant. Then body guards. And finally... Rob appears. White collar, slicked down hair, a small grin and downcast eyes. No one screams, not one camera click can be heard, it’s as if the Earth itself has stopped (or just the girls’ hearts?). We get a few seconds, then he’s already in his trailer. The vision is over, the fans are trying to catch their breath. Even I feel a little strange after seeing this famous actor with my own eyes. There is no doubt that Robert is just as handsome in real life as he is on film where they always make sure the lighting is perfect, or on photos where everything gets retouched for days.
The curtain opens once again after 30 seconds and he exits again. How is this possible. Cameras are clicking wildly, then we realize that this isn’t Robert after all. But he looks very similar to him - I later find out that he is the Hungarian double, whose name is Szabolcs Eszes. “I would settle for him too,” sighs a girl next to me, who with her checkered blouse, ripped jeans and leather bag looks like a Kristen Stewart wannabe. “But he looks more like Edward from Twilight, rather than the way Robert normally looks,” she notes critically, then turns to me, “Did you get a good picture of him?” Let’s see: a waiter’s back, a theater poster, my new shoes - I’m clearly not the best photographer. When I get to the photo where half of Rob’s face and a few locks of his hair are visible, the girl’s face lights up. “I want to talk to him so badly,” she sighs weakly. She tells me they watched him filming on Andrássy Avenue yesterday. “It was so windy, and the street was full of sand that ended up in our eyes. Everyone thought we were crying,” she laughs.
Is he really a gentleman?
A blonde girl aged about 20 runs towards us, buries her face in the Kristen wannabe’s neck, then starts to jump around as the words rush out of her mouth: “I saw him yesterday in McDonald’s! He was alone, without any bodyguards, me and my sister almost had a heart attack! He just went to the counter, ordered a double cheeseburger then rushed out immediately. He was so sweet: he smiled shyly at us, ran his fingers through his hair and made a face like we had caught him doing something bad.” The fans eavesdropping behind us turn around: they saw him at Oktogon, he was sipping his drink quietly in a garden, as if he was a normal guy from around the block. And what surprised me the most was that the girls didn’t even think about rushing over to him, they just looked at him from their balcony. They never scream either, because they respect their idol. “We know that this is his job. He has to stay in character, he has to concentrate all day, so if he comes out of his trailer we don’t go crazy because we don’t want to disturb him,” says a girl with a serious expression, wearing a Kings of Leon t-shirt. She travelled to Budapest from the countryside to see him. She says she liked Edward at first and it was because of Twilight that she started to learn English in order to be able to read the books in their original format, but she thinks that after the vampire, Rob is the hottest guy on the planet.
Is he really so modest?
Pattinson shows up again, gets in a black car and is driven away right in front of us. He’s going to lunch. His head isn’t full of his ego, he doesn’t wave like a campaigning politician. He’s more like a shy young man who doesn’t believe he deserves all this love and attention. He is very nice to the girls and is willing to take photos with them: a few were able to catch him at the airport while others saw him out and about in the city. “He was so nice and down-to-earth with us, he even had a conversation with us,” says a girl carrying a laptop case, continually loading all her photos onto the internet. “He doesn’t act like an unreachable movie star. He’s a very normal, very relaxed guy! I wish the men in my office were like him too,” she sighs, smiling.
The black car arrives a few minutes later and the shoot continues. This wasn’t what I expected: I thought I would spend my day among screaming fans and a heavily made-up wannabe actor. I’m not saying that I have now become a real RPattz fanatic, but I have a much clearer view of what is behind all this craziness. An incredibly good looking and very well-mannered guy, who was lucky enough to get the role of Edward Cullen, one of the most romantic characters in recent movie history. I discovered here in Budapest that even without that, he is sexy and interesting. And the end of the day’s shoot, he turns to his fans and to much of our surprise, starts to speak in Hungarian: “Koszonom hogy csendben voltatok” (thanks for being quiet) to which the screams that have been swallowed back for hours finally erupt.
Blue bubble in the middle:
Where did R. P. go?
1. One morning he was seen walking around in Buda Castle with his bodyguards. We would give him a crown if it would mean he would stay longer!
2. Even in sunglasses and a hoodie we were still able to recognize him buying fancy souvenirs in a shop in Váci street - let’s hope those gifts weren’t intended for Kristen!
3. During the weekend he had dinner at a restaurant in Liszt Ferenc square, then disappeared inside one of the pubs there.
4. He went back to Andrássy Avenue several times even after they were done filming there. Maybe he’s thinking of getting an apartment there? [personal note: pffft yeah right]

Robert Pattinson’s Performance Has Matured In Eclipse

“I know the consequences of the choice you’re making.” That’s what Edward Cullen tells Bella Swan in my second favorite scene in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer. (The Meadow Scene remains my #1 sequence.)
It’s not just that Robert Pattinson’s American accent is flawless. Is not just that Pattinson sounds more passionate when he whispers than just about any other actor when they declare their love by thumping their chests.
What makes that intimate moment between Pattinson and fellow player Kristen Stewart so effective is that the actor, in a few seconds, quietly whispering one brief, single line, is able to convey both his deep concern and his boundless affection for the person lying next to him. His is also the voice — or rather, the whisper — of experience. He knows that there’ll be an enormously high price to pay if Bella is to become one with him.
Pattinson is only in his early 20s, and many have derided his acting abilities. He was even up for a Worst Supporting Actor Razzie Award earlier this year. (A way for those Razzie guys to get some publicity, c’mon…) I’ve mentioned before that Stewart has matured as an actress and will probably surprise those who have found her “bland” before. I believe the same will happen when Pattinson is seen in Eclipse.
Trust me; this is not a matter of me being some out-of-control fan who secretly lusts after Pattinson. That’s not the case at all. It’s simply how I feel his performance; he doesn’t even look all that great in the scene because of all that white powder on his face.
Also, I must admit that I’d love to see Twilight naysayers (who hate it because they see it as “chick lit” and/or a “chick flick”) bite their collective, prejudiced tongues if Eclipse and its players turn out to be — at the very least — moderately well-received by film critics. I’m rooting for that.
Directed by David Slade from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens on June 30. The final Eclipse trailer will be shown on Oprah next Friday.

Is Kristen Stewart Replacing Angelina Jolie?

Kristen Stewart is a Wanted woman!
Sources tell E! News that the studio and director behind the sequel to Wanted have expressed interest in snagging K.Stew to follow in Angelina Jolie’s footsteps as the female lead, starring alongside James McAvoy.
While details are still pretty scarce, Stewart’s character would be a young, ass-kicking assassin in the Fraternity.
So is Stewart in, and Angie out?
It’s too early to tell if the film is even gonna happen, but it’s not looking good for A.
Our insider says Kristen was approached to fill Jolie’s hot-woman void in the franchise and met at least once with Timur Bekmambetov, the director of the series.
However, Angelina’s participation in the project is still up in the air.
While her character died in the first installment of the film, Bekmambetov told MTV that he would bring her back in some capacity, in the sequel.
Only problem is A.J. reportedly backed out of the film. We hear details (aka money and exactly how much time she’d need to give to the flick) were never worked out, which is why Angelina is out, for now—but she could possibly make a cameo if the film actually happens.
So can Kristen save the franchise?
Our dishy source says the Stewart-McAvoy version of the project might not come to fruition, but it remains a slim possibility—and wouldn’t it be damn hot! (Sure would be a lot happier news than that horrible fake car accident stuff which had K.Stew fans in a tizzy yesterday.)
Kristen is set to start filming Breaking Dawn possibly as early as October, while the Wanted follow-up was originally slated to start shooting around the end of August.
No production date has been set in stone for the final Twilight flick(s), which is making it difficult, we’re told, for many of the actors involved in the vampire franchise to figure out their schedule allowed for outside projects. Anyone remember Rachelle Lefevre?
Be careful before you sign up for other projects, dearies!
Neither Bekmambetov nor a rep for Stewart responded to E!’s request for comment. While no offer was officially given to Kristen, word is that Bekmambetov is—for now—looking at other projects for the fall, given the scheduling conflicts.
Bummer! Nobody kicks ass like K.Stew.
Kristen Stewart – People.com’s “Beautiful at Every Age” Article
KRISTEN STEWART, 20When you think Valley girl the Twilight star, who plays tortured loner Bella Swan, doesn’t exactly come to mind. And you won’t catch this California native slaving over the latest fashion and beauty trends. “I think it’s ridiculous that you need to look a certain way to be conventionally pretty,” she declares.

Flaunt Mag Preview: Kristen admits “I’m Insecure. Just Like You”

Stewart really is shy and insecure, even though she’s got an incredible acting career, including starring in the summer’s most anticipated release, Eclipse! Read on to find out what she told Flaunt about just how much self-doubt consumes her!
Under those slumped shoulders and often cold-glare eyes, Kristen Stewart is just as insecure as the rest of us — so she proves in an incredibly revealing new interview in Flaunt magazine.
The Twilight star tells Flaunt’s Gregg Lagambina that she was wracked with nerves before her latest film, The Runaways, debuted at Sundance. “I thought everyone would write shit reviews. I thought everyone was waiting, itching to say that I should just go back to Twilight. And no one said that. I put so much into it. I would have died working on that movie. So if they did say those bad things, then I might as well just stop now.”
Kristen also explains why — at least in her mind — she might come off as aloof and standoffish to others. “I get defensive and that has probably perpetuated people’s idea of me never smiling. I kind of shake my leg too, so people think I’m always uncomfortable.”
As for how she makes her film choices, K suggests it’s all just instinct: “Who knows what you’re going to connect with and then be able to live up to? I can’t just read a script and say it’s great because there’s a part for me, my age, perfect—I can’t live that life. You know what I mean? That’s just not me.”
And she takes us deep into how fame has changed her: “Yeah, I definitely act differently. I’m definitely overcoming a lot of it. The only insecurity I’ve developed is just being overly paranoid about everyone looking at you when they’re not.”
For more of this remarkable one-on-one with K-Stew (did she talk about R-Patz?), and to see all the fantastic photos in this gorgeous shoot, check out the new issue of Flaunt magazine, out next week.
